The project is part of the 32 year investigation into a ship wreck, which is believed to be the The Bonhomme Richard. Under the command of Commodore John Paul Jones of the American Continental Navy the ship was lost in the classic sea battle in an unknown location in 1779.
The Bonhomme Richard is the most sort after artefact of the American War for Independence.
